Hardly any other place
on the Earth gives you as many sunny days in the year as
Dahab does. And this is particularly good when the north
wind, strengthened by the local thermal conditions and
by the mountains in the hinterland close by, gives the
right conditions for all levels to learn and train.
Dahab - without exaggeration - is one of the most
multifaceted spots in the world: a shallow standing area
for entry level and intermediate sailors, water as
smooth as a mirror for speed and freestyle junkies and a
wave spot that delivers up to 3 metre swells. In a side
offshore-wind and a reaching course, you can get around
the whole bay and still be in sight of the station.
Alongside the water activities, the Sinai peninsula has
some great shopping places such as the quirky bustle of
Azzalah, where you can round off your windsurfing day
with a traditional tea and a water pipe. And not to be
missed is the sundowner right on the beach in one of the
nice bars.

Location
The Planet Windsurfing station is
located left hand (looking to the sea) at the Swiss Inn
beach. 10m to the shore.
Spot Guide Dahab
The wind is cross off shore from the
left (north easterly). There are 3 main spots to
windsurf in:
–Lagoon, offering safety as the downwind area is blocked
off by a sandy spit. Great for beginners-intermediates.
–Speedy, behind the sandy spit, perfectly flat ready for
the speed sailor, freerider or freestyler.
–Kamikaze, the area out the back where the wind creates
swell off around 2 meters.

Swiss Inn
Directly situated on the 400 mt. long sandy beach, just
a couple of meters from the Planet Windsurfing Center.
This hotel opened 1997 and is a very nice arranged 4
star hotel under Swiss Management. The next village is
Masbat, around 3,5 Km away from Dahab.
